Welcome to the Clinic for Urology, Paediatric Urology and Uro-oncology at the Friedrichshafen Clinic and the da Vinci Centre, Bodensee, under the expert leadership of urology specialists.
The Group Practice for Urology offers complete conservative diagnostics and therapy in paediatric and adult urology, both male and female, in respect of disorders such as prostate cancer, prostatitis and prostate adenoma.
Usually, treatments in our urology practice in Germany are performed on an out-patient basis, using the latest methods (ultrasound devices with colour duplex, flexible instruments for pain-free inspection of the urethra and the bladder) and low-radiation digital X-rays (uro-radiology).
Examinations by our urology specialists are also performed at the Clinic for Urology, Paediatric Urology and Uro-oncology in Friedrichshafen, Germany.
This ensures competent, personal specialist treatment during and after your visit to the urology practice or the Urology Clinic.
Traditionally, urology specialists are "men’s physicians".
We have medical council certification for andrology and offer specialist services in urology:
The Group Practice for Urology and the Clinic for Urology, Paediatric Urology and Uro-oncology in Friedrichshafen, Germany, places strong focus on paediatric urology.
Common disorders of the external genitalia of boys - phimosis (tight foreskin) or cryptorchidism (undescended testicles) - are treated on an out-patient basis. Complex procedures in urology (hypospadias correction with mucosal grafting), urinary flow and upper urinary tract disorders, (obstructions of the pelvic-ureteric junction), ectopic ureter (reflux) and lower urinary tract obstructions are also performed at the urology clinic.
These procedures are mostly performed by laparoscopic surgery or with the da Vinci Si HD surgical robot.
Bed-wetting is also treated in the urology clinic (Uro-flow EMG measurement station/ biofeedback therapy) after examination by one of our urology specialists.
Sometimes our small urology patients are treated as in-patients in cooperation with the Mother-and-Child Centre.
The incidence of cancer in urology (uro-oncology) is high. Over 40% of German cancer cases fall under urology.
In Germany, there are almost 60,000 cases of prostate cancer - the most common cancer in men - annually. Bladder cancer is also increasing due to environmental influences and nicotine, also among women.
For cancer treatment in the area of urology, we work closely with the clinic radiologists and oncologists and specialists from other regions, e.g. the university clinics in Tübingen/ Ulm/Munich.
Testicular cancer is treated in cooperation with the "Second Opinion Centre" at Tübingen University Clinic.
Specialists treat urological cancer both at the urology practice and at the Clinic for Urology, Paediatric Urology and Uro-oncology.
Most chemotherapy is carried out on an out-patient basis at the urology department.
Our urology clinic boasts the latest in medical technology coupled with extensive specialist experience, especially in laparoscopic surgery in the area of urology. Our urology department also boasts laser treatments and da Vinci® SI HD surgical robot assisted surgery.
Every year, around 1,000 in-patients and 1,400 out-patients are treated at the urology clinic. The average hospital stay in the urology department is 5 - 6 days. Our modern operating theatres boast the da Vinci® SI HD surgical robot. The urology department has a digital X-ray machine and endo-urological TUR room, an ESWL for shock-wave therapy of kidney stones and a uro-dynamic measuring station. Kidney surgery is the priority branch at Friedrichshafen Clinic.
We have a 24-hour specialist urology stand-by service.

I am 57 yr old man presenting with severe pain in the tip of the penis. Sometimes severe burning sensation between the anus and testicles. No urinary symptoms. On examination: prostate was normal in size, not tender. Pelvic US revealed normal prostate size 17 gm, normal urinary bladder, and kidneys. PSA was low (0.14 ng). Urine analysis and cultures was normal. Prostate fluid analysis and culture were normal. Penile US and duplex were normal. The diagnosis is chronic pelvic pain syndrome. Can I find treatment for this condition.
Thank you very much
